Buju Banton’s Nairobi concert cancelled over Moi’s death

It’s indeed sad news to learn that the highly anticipated Buju Banton’s concert in Nairobi won’t go down as planned because of the unplanned sudden death of the second president of Kenya, Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi.

Buju Banton’s management team took time to apologize to Buju’s fans who already bought the tickets to see Buju Banton perform stating that the concert could not go down as planned on the 8th of February due to uncontrolled situations that were out of their hands.

“We extended all possibilities to work with the constraints the promoters faced. It is with great regret to inform you that Buju Banton will not be performing in Nairobi, Kenya, on Saturday, February 8th, 2020,” read the statement.

Mr. Kelvin Mulei who is the founder and the head of NRG Radio, the event organizers who are responsible for bringing Buju Banton in Kenya for the very first time said that the concert had to be rescheduled following the advice given by the government accordance with the official directive issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta to observe the days of mourning the late president Daniel Moi.

According to the directive given by the Kenyan government, the public body viewing of the late president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the Parliament buildings.

The Buju Banton Nairobi performance which was slotted for the 8th of February will have to be pushed forward to a letter date which according to the event organizers has already been set.

Buju Banton’s performance has been pushed forward officially to 15th February at the K.I.C.C which was the same venue that it was scheduled for.

The event organizers have iterated that they shall honor all the tickets that were already bought for the concert. The line-up still remains the same with all the sponsors and partners involved in the concert are still being a part of the highly-anticipated concert.

It is reported that Buju Banton who is currently working on releasing a new hit record together with musician cum politician Bobby Wine is super excited and ready to give Kenyans one performance that they will never ever forget.
