Yemi Alade held an exclusive party in Nairobi on Tuesday night in celebration of her recently released fourth studio album ‘Woman of Steel’ and a short film ‘Home’.

The Nigerian songbird has a Swahili song dubbed ‘Umaskini’ in her 15-track new album. This is not the first time Yemi is singing in Swahili, she dropped a Swahili remix of her hit song ‘Na Gode’ in 2016 and it was a big success garnering over 6 million views on YouTube.

Speaking of her new Swahili song ‘Umaskini’, which was translated by Kenyan gospel-turned-secular artiste Ivlyn Mutua, Yemi Alade said singing in Swahili is her way of saying thank you to her East African fans.

“I always believe going where the love is and I must say there is a lot of love for me in East Africa. So when I sing songs in Swahili this is my way of saying thank you so much. That’s why I had to include it (Umaskini) on the album. I want you guys to see the efforts I’m putting in this relationship,” said Yemi Alade.

Several Kenyan celebrities turned up to support Yemi as she launched her 15- track Album. Among those who showed up include; Victoria Kimani, Sauti Sol’s Chimano, Hart the Band, Nadia Mukami, Naiboi, Anyiko Owoko, Patricia Kihoro, Producer Eric Musyoka, Buddah Blaze and Blinky Bill just but to mention a few.
