Rayvanny overtook his former boss Diamond Platnumz to emerge top Tanzanian singer with most YouTube streams in the month of April 2023.

Vannyboy was ranked first with 40 million views while Diamond came second with 35 million views as Harmonize took the third spot with 22 million views.

Jay Melody and Mbosso closed the top five spots as they emerged 4th and 5th with 8.3 million views and 7 million views respectively.

Alikiba with 6.57 million views, while Rose Muhando was the only gospel singer to make the cut with 5.9 million views. She was followed by Marioo who garnered 5 million views.

Mavokali was ranked 10th with 4.9 million YouTube views for the month of April.

After he emerged as the top artiste with most YouTube views in April, Rayvanny decided to tease his former boss Diamond.

Vannyboy acknowledged that it was not an easy feat to dethrone Diamond who has always been at position one for the longest.

He told Diamond that he was feeling cold being at the top because ‘there is so much wind up there’.

“Wasanii hiyo namba 1 sio lelemama… Nadhani Chui ndio msanii pekee alomtoa bwana Simba hapo toka ameanza kukaa hapo kwa miaka mingi. Diamond Platnumz naskia baridi bhana hapa juu kuna upepo sana,” Rayvanny wrote.

Diamond remains the most streamed African artiste ever on YouTube of all times even though Nigeria’s Burna Boy is fast catching up with him.
