Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz is the most streamed African artiste ever on YouTube even though Nigeria’s Burna Boy is fast catching up with him.

According to Top Charts Africa, Diamond is the most streamed African artiste on YouTube with over 2.14 billion streams followed Burna Boy with over 2.05 billion streams.

In the third place is another Nigerian artiste Wizkid with over 1.67 billion streams followed by Congolese superstar Fally Ipupa who has over 1.40 billion streams.

In fifth place is Nigeria’s Davido with over 1.29 billion streams followed by his compatriot Ckay who has over 1.15 billion streams.

Flavour comes in seventh position with over 1.10 billion streams closely followed by P Square with over 1.09.

Rema is in ninth position with over 1.06 billion streams followed by Tekno who has 964 million.

Nigerians took the lion’s share in the rankings, Diamond Platnumz was the only East African artiste in the list.

The Tanzanian singer has three songs in his channel that have more than 100 million views on YouTube.

‘Yope’ Remix which is a song where Diamond Platnumz was featured on by Innos’B has 207 million views, ‘Waah’ featuring Koffi Olomide has 134 million views, ‘Inama’ featuring Fally Ipupa has 122 million views.

I wonder what might happen if Diamond Platnumz and Burna Boy work together, maybe in a collaborative studio project. What I know is that if that happens, it will blow everything else out of the water.
