Celebrated and controversial radio presenter, TV host, and media personality, Rapcha Sayantist has opened up about something most people didn’t know about him, especially about his career.

The first-ever comedian to have a standup comedy show in the country opened up about how the late comedian, Mzee Ojwang Hatari real name Benson Wanjau helped him kickstart his career in acting and comedy.

First off, it’s safe to say that Rapcha Sayantist who has once lived in Huruma estate in his early years has been featured in ‘Vioja Mahakamani’ and other mainstream shows on the television.

Rapcha disclosed that Mzee Ojwang’ gave him an opportunity to perform to an audience that came to saw him to give him a shot.

At the show, Rapcha Sayantist was the one tasked with collecting the entrance fee at the Agricultural Society of Kenya(ASK) and Mzee Ojwang’ Hatari didn’t hesitate to give
him his first-ever opportunity that molded his career by asking him to go entertain.

“I remember I had been tasked with collecting money at the entrance on the vitimbi stand at ASK,” the HOT 96 Reggae presenter said, “after it was full I went backstage to call mzee.. he told me get on stage and entertain this is your only chance.. the rest is history”

Rapcha Sayantist reiterated that the era of Mzee Ojwang’ Hatari was the best time to be a comedian because nobody was taking advantage of anybody like today’s world.

“This generation of comedians never owned no slave companies, they were least concerned with a programme bearing their names, they just wanted to entertain and new talent they spotted they recommended to KBC and never bothered about what they got… Kings… All of them” he added on his tweets.
