It’s a given and goes without saying that the late hip hop and rap legend, Kantai played a major role in shaping today’s hip hop and most notable rappers like Juliani, Khaligraph Jones and now Kforce who is about to drop a classic album agrees that to be truth.

Many hip hop fans across the country were taken aback by the passing of Chris Kantai who was battling alcohol addiction for years and as he was in and out of rehabilitation centers. The family members are yet to officially release the official statement of what exactly caused his death.

You can’t take good quality music from Kantai and everybody who is privy to Kenyan rap and hip hop will agree with me on this and Kibera’s rapper, Kforce took time to talk about how Kantai taught him about the Kenyan hip hop in general and how to survive in it for the longest time ever, he even shared photos of himself with Kantai back in the day sharing light moments.

Kforce disclosed that he first met Kantai when he was still a teenager and they were not close in the beginning but grew closer to each other over the years and it was at that moment that he was taught quite a lot with the ‘Happy’ hitmaker who generally introduced Stella Mwangi(then STL) to the rap scene and generally in the music industry.

“R.I.P Big Bro KANTAI 💓 When i first met him as a teen it was literally War but we became quite close over the years. He taught me quite a bit about Kenyan Hip hop and I am forever Grateful. Rest Easy Big Bro.” Kforce wrote on Instagram.
