Kartelo, whose real name is Nick Chege, was among a handful of comedians who fell out with US based Chipukeezy during his stint on Ebru TV where he used to host a show.

Chipukeezy was accused by multiple comedians of exploiting young talents that he worked with at Ebru. He  clashed with Kartelo whom he co-hosted the show with.

Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Mungai Eve, Kartelo said he is not in good term with Chipukeezy and that they don’t talk.

“I respect him so much but currently, we don’t talk but he helped me in so many ways. We have had our moments. He has really helped me. I don’t hold any grudge. If we meet and agree to talk, then I will be okay,” he said.

Kartelo failed to rule out the possibility of working together again with Chipukeezy when asked about it by Mungai Eve.

“There were things that went bad and made us not to work together. I would want to work with him but it also depends with his willingness to work with me, if he doesn’t then it is hard. All human beings have their weaknesses.”

Kartelo also revealed that he stepped away from comedy to focus on his spiritual growth revealing that he recently got saved and became born again Christian.

“I was dedicating so much of my time to people’s happiness but now I decided to focus on my life, my personal project and family,” Kartelo said.

He added that;

“Spirituality pia, I am growing. I have been a church person. I am saved and I will be baptised this year. It’s a step I want to take in my life. Celebrity life moves very fast and if you are not careful, you end up giving it your all. I could not even sleep, I was always moving and doing things.”

The comedian further lamented that fame him forget to visit his parent and the people that really matter in his life.

“I was drained and there was no time for myself. Anything I did was on Kartelo and not Nick. The brand was okay but my relationship with the people who matter was not good.”
