Babu Tale speaks on claims he offered his wife as a sacrifice to the devil to win MP seat unopposed

Babu Tale ran unopposed in the just concluded Tanzania general election. Critics accuse him of using black magic to win the parliamentary seat.

Tale’s win was obvious as he faced no challenger at all, this after his rivals were disqualified by the electoral body before the election.

Diamond’s manager ran for Morogoro South East constituency on ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) ticket. He became CCM flagbearer after beating Tanzania’s assistant Agricultural minister Omary Mgumbe, who was the incumbent area MP.

Tale has since responded to claims that he offered his late wife Shamsa Kombo as sacrifice to the devil to win Morogoro South East parliamentary seat.

The lawmaker’s late wife died suddenly in June 2020, the cause of her untimely death is yet to be made public to date.

News about Shamsa’s death was broken on social media by members of Diamond’s family who condoled with Babu Tale’s family.

Speaking during an interview with Clouds FM, the first time MP dismissed the claims saying they were started by jealous people.

“People who say that I killed my wife by sacrificing her to black magic are just propagandists. I really loved my wife and I could never go against the marriage institution by breaking it all in a bid of chasing leadership and power,” said Babu Tale.
