Ralph Sandal Masai, famously known as Cannibal Shattah, got saved some time in 2017 after more than a decade in the secular world.

The rapper opened up on why he got saved during an interview with gospel singer Mbuvi on TV47. Cannibal revealed he was recruited into devil-worshipping, and to get out he had to give his life to Christ.

The Mombasa based rapper said he was recruited into a satanic cult by a Tanzanian musician who came to Kenya looking for him in the pretext that he was seeking collabo.

The ‘My City My Town’ hitmaker disclosed that the Tanzanian artiste was introduced to him by his former music partner Sharama.

“Huyu msanii alicome akaenda ile mtaa Sharama alikua wakakutana so Sharama akacome through na yeye mahali mimi nlikua akani introduce ‘huyu msanii ametoka Tanzania anafanya hivi na hivi’ nkajua ni msanii kumbe alikua na mambo yake,” said Cannibal in part.

Cannibal said that the Bongo artiste returned to Tanzania before he came back to Kenya and he hosted him at his family house in Mombasa.

It was during his stay in Mombasa that the Bongo artiste told him that he was into devilish stuff, but the Kenyan rapper didn’t take him seriously at first.

Cannibal said the Bongo artiste told him that he had 324 genies (evil spirits believed to be capable of granting wishes when summoned) and that he also flies at night.

The Kenyan rapper together with his parents challenged their guest to prove his words, and he gladly accepted.

“Akaniambia bana mimi nina majini mia tatu ishirini na nne, nkapuuzia. Lakini kuna siku moja akasema mbele ya my mom and dad hapo sitting room usiku kama saa sita hivi akasema anapeperuka usiku. My mom akamuambia leo tunataka tuzione hizo vitu zako. Akasema sawa,” said Cannibal.

Cannibal reveals that the Bongo artiste summoned spirits to their house after asking his parents for permission to allow the spirits to visit their house.

“Unajua kitu nlikuja kujua ni kwamba shetani hawezi kuingia kwako mbaka aombe ruhusa. Yule alikua ni kama sasa pepo shetani anaomba ruhusa. Sasa walivyokubali wakampatia kibali ya yeye kuingiza hayo majini yake mia tatu,” Cannibal revealed.

The rapper said the Tanzanian guest summoned evil spirits in the form of an old man into their house, and from that day henceforth everything changed.

Cannibal said he was recruited into devil-worshipping as the spirits that had camped in their house gave him instructions on what to do.

The rapper further disclosed that the spirits were feeding him the flesh of dead people while promising him success in his music career and wealth.

“We were living with demons unknowingly, so ule jamaa akawa ako pale ametake over. Kuna vitu alikua ananipa nakula, ananiambia hii ukikula nyota yako itang’aa utakua msanii mkali. Mimi nakula kumbe ananipa nyama za watu wamekufa,” said Cannibal.

The Mombasa based rapper said that things got worse after the spirits started sucking his blood. He got really sick and when he was taken to hospital doctors couldn’t diagnose him with any condition.

Things however changed after Cannibal’s mother met a Christian woman who had a premonition about the rapper’s troubled life.

The woman prayed for Cannibal and introduced him to Christianity. Their house was anointed and evil spirits fled.

Cannibal however didn’t immediately get saved, he had other encounters with devil worshippers who tried recruiting him back.

The Mombasa rapper ultimately gave his life to Christ in 2017 after he vied for the MCA seat in Mtopanga Ward, Mombasa county in the 2017 general election.

Cannibal claimed that his opponents used witchcraft to defeat him. He wished he could have been saved when he vied for the seat.
