Akoth Jumadi is an artiste Kenya should be proud to have, she’s talented, gifter, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, and versatile most importantly.

Granted, a lot of people might have not heard about the beautiful singer Akoth Jumadi and it’s about time we all changed that.

She’s a bonafide musician who ought to be appreciated by almost everybody, every African who can hold and type “the best” on their phones.

Akoth might be new in the music industry having released her debut project, an EP dubbed ‘Ere Yo’ which is in Dholuo translating to “Where’s the Way’ but she’s somewhat an Ayub Ogada incarnate.

They usually say that music never dies even if the composer of the song actually dies and that’s why a song like ‘Koth Biro’ by Ayub Ogada will forever live on, and that being said if you listen to Akoth Jumadi’s latest project ‘Ere Yo’, you feel the vibes that you might have felt when listening to an Ayub Ogada record.

And in case you thought I forgot, she plays the Nyatiti as well, just like Ayub Ogada did.

Akoth Jumadi is inevitably going to take the Kenyan music sound to greater heights and she’s going to do it with unprecedented finesse.

Akoth Jumadi fuses together different genres and weaves them together to bring one powerful eccentric sound that sounds heavenly when you get to listen to it for the very first time.

Akoth Jumadi who answers to her talent-given moniker of being the musical “Architect of The Future” takes a little bit from Luo folk, afro soul, soul, tribal fusion, jazz, taarab, benga, reggae, and hip hop to give you an unforgettable sound that will linger in your head long after listening to the actual song.

If that’s not creativity, genius, versatility, craftsmanship all wrapped in one with a musical ribbon on it, then I don’t know what is.

Jumadi might be the new blood in these music streets but there’s no way she won’t be heard and earn her rightful place in the music industry today, and probably forever.

When you listen to her music, it’s like you are listening to Prince and India Arie singing in harmony together, she was actually born to sing and we sure can’t wait to see what the future holds for her in the industry.

In her latest debut project ‘Ere Yo’, she effortlessly owns her own brand, her vocals which have made her stand out, easy.

The fact that she embraces different genres of music makes her a unique musical treasure that Kenya as a country should be proud of despite her being a freshman.
