Police in Migori county are raiding residents’ homes and beating up people indiscriminately. Migori governor Okoth Obado and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed have confirmed the said atrocities have been committed.

Junet has disclosed that his constituents fled to the mountains for fear of police brutality.  The Suna East MP took to Twitter to expose the ethnic profiling of his people.

“My people have moved to the mountains today for fear of police brutality after police invaded their homes and flashed out youths @JBoinnet,” Junet Mohamed tweeted.

Meanwhile Migori governor Okoth Obado has also reiterated that police are shooting people indiscriminately. Speaking to KTN during a press briefing at 5:30pm Friday October 27th, Obado said police had shot a kid and were raiding people’s homes.

“They broke into people’s houses, they beat people indiscriminately, they loot and they even eat foot that is there,” said Okoth Obado.

The Migori governor also said that the heavy contingent of police had been deployed to his county to force the people to vote. He called on the Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet to recall his officers from Migori.
