A man in India was forced to carry his dead loved one from the hospital several miles after she passed on.
A viral video that was posted online by Al-Jazeera news, attracted the attention of internet users.
The man identified as Mahnji who is a resident of Orissa State in India,says the staff had refused to ferry the body and so he left on foot with his lover on his shoulder. His daughter followed.
“I had pleaded with them,saying am a poor person and cannot afford a vehicle to carry my wife’s body….they said they cannot offer me any help,” a visibly distraught Mahnji told Al-Jazeera news.
When reached for comment,the hospital denied the allegations. The local government has since ordered a probe into the matter.
