Alikiba has explained that he is not in the same generation music-wise as Diamond Platnumz while answering those comparing them.
The veteran Bongo singer said that what many people do not know that he and Diamond are not in the same group musically speaking.
Speaking at his birthday party on a large yacht, Alikiba explained that he falls in a different category from Diamond as far as the hierarchy of Bongo music is concerned.
Alikiba elaborated that although he has been in the industry for many years, he has not yet reached the level of being called a Bongo music legend.
He mentioned some of the artists who came before him and said that he is coming in a different generation and Diamond is coming later in another generation as well.
“Mimi nilianza muziki nikiwa mdogo sana, ni legend ndio lakini unajua siwezi kuwa legend kabla ya wasanii kama Professor Jay, Dully Sykes, Mr Blue, hao ni malejendari kaka zetu hao.
“Kuna kiwango unafika ndio uitwe legend, mimi generation yangu ni ya tatu. Generation ya kwanza ilikuwa ni ya kina Professor Jay, Mr 2, Kwanza Unit, generation ya pili ni ya kina Dully Sykes, Mr Blue, Juma Nature, AY, Mwana FA na wengine.
“Generation ya tatu sasa ndio kuna kina Matonya, Alikiba, Belle9, Barnaba. Ya nne sasa ndio unawakuta kina Diamond, Hussein Machozi, Marlaw,” said Alikiba as he recognised that the likes of Marioo and Jay Melody belongs in the generation that precedes the likes of Diamond Platnumz.
