Why hip hop fans are waiting for Scar Mkadinali to drop his studio project

7 mins read

Scar Mkadinali who stills answer to the mononym Scar doesn’t need any introduction in the Kenyan music industry today, his reputation precedes him.

The one-third member of Wakadinali has earned his stripes to be named among the top rappers in the country today without any dispute whatsoever coming from anybody.

His consistency, his prolificness, and versatility in the music industry make him a candidate to become of the greatest Kenyan music exports of our time because he can seamlessly deliver in any beats laid down for him without breaking a sweat and make it look so easy it’s beyond this world.

It has reached a moment in his career where he gets people to listen to him every other time he releases a project; now that’s power and influence. Just head on to his latest record that he put out on YouTube, read on the comment section below the ‘OPPS’ video, and know what I am talking about.

The Mr. Riz Mangwai rapper is the only one member of the phenomenal rap group Wakadinali –that has changed the game as we know it today, especially the drill sound in the country– who hasn’t released his solo studio project yet.

Scar hasn’t released an EP, a mixtape, even an LP/Album making his studio projects one of the most anticipated projects in the county by far, when it drops, it will inevitably blow everything else out of the water.

After working with so many established and upcoming musicians, Scar is yet to put out a studio project of his own, the fans want him to drop the project like yesterday.

Scar hasn’t given out any updates on whether he is working on his solo studio project yet or when we should expect it but what we know so far is that the fans are eagerly waiting for him to drop especially after Sewersydaa, and Domani Munga already dropped theirs a few months ago. We have some credible information about Domani Munga working on releasing his other solo project, it’s only a matter of when.

Why hip hop needs Scar’s studio project

The one major question on Wakadinali and Scar fans is one; when will Scar drop his studio project?

When Scar gets to drop his studio project; whatever it will be, it’s going to change the narrative as we know it today not only in the hip hop scene but in the entire music industry because for one, he has since changed his perspective when it comes down to his music, he’s managed to switch his music to make sure that it also accommodates his international audience as much as it does to his East African fan base.

All thanks to his uniqueness in the hip hop game, Scar has managed to make sure that his sound is one that cannot get compared to any rapper’s sound anywhere on the planet, that’s probably why he’s one of the most sought-after rappers today.

When he finally get to drop his debut studio album, he will eventually blow every other projects released prior his release out of the water. His studio is one of the highly anticipated studio projects in Kenya today. Photo credit: Instagram/scar_mkadinali

In his supposed future studio project, Scar is going to either work with a lot of established artistes carefully picked up or decide to put out a project without any features at all which will also be an unprecedented move for someone in his stature. Since this is going to be his debut studio album, I doubt if he will release an entire compilation of his body of work as a debut project. Time will tell though.

Scar Mkadinali got everyone’s attention in the East African hip hop scene and that’s what he intends to capitalize on when the time is right because as much as there are a lot of other celebrated artistes and rappers in the music industry, stans are usually keen to know and/or listen to what Scar, and/or Wakadinali has to say having won them over for years on end.

One thing is assured, when every other rapper gets to find out when Scar is going to release his studio project, they best be prepared to push back their studio projects if they had them already lined up in the pipeline because when Scar drops his project, everybody else, fans and rappers will have to stop what they’re doing and listen to what he has to say on the project.

The million-dollar question is; when will Scar drop his highly anticipated studio project that at the moment doesn’t even have a name attached to it?

Nobody knows if he’s already working on his solo project/s but what we know is that the streets want his studio project to drop already!

I am a Pan-Afrikanist to the core and love to let the world know what they are missing in Africa. I might do that through music and some interesting posts from time to time so please bare with me.

I will always be real though, that's a guarantee.
