I don’t bow down to social media pressure, Scar Mkadinali retorts

3 mins read

Scar Mkadinali is considered to be among the elite rappers in Kenya today, granted, he is one-third member of one of the formidable rap groups today, Wakadinali.

The rapper is as outspoken as the next guy with the next “guy” maybe being Kanye West. He has no filters in his interviews and that’s probably why a lot of people, hip hop heads included usually resonate with him as an artiste and also a person.

In the interview, the rapper who owns the record of having the most remixed song in East Africa disclosed that he doesn’t let and allow social media pressure and shenanigans get to him in any way whatsoever.

Scar says that he doesn’t live a life of comparison and according to him, he’s living the best life than any other rapper out there because he’s not in competition with anyone but himself because he believes he is the one today as compared to what he was a few years ago.

He stressed that he makes sure that his girlfriend and his children know that there’s nothing for them on social media, especially on Instagram where people tend to live a fake life as opposed to the life they portray on the social media platform.

“mimi uambia msupa wangu every [expletive] time, stay the [expletive] out of IG uwache kuja hapa kuniambia sijui nani ako nini, wha the [expletive] men. Whatchu doing? even my kids I tell them, stay away from this IG and [expletive]. There’s too much pressure, unanifeel, yaani hadi msanii anashindwa atatokea aje, trust me hiyo ndio inakuanga shida yetu kubwa,” Scar said in part in his interview with Drill Digest.

Scar Mkadinali is by far one of the sought-after rappers in Kenya having worked with top East African rappers like Khaligraph Jones, Mr Blue, Wangechi, and King Kaka, just to mention a few.

His unique style of rapping and the pan-African stand that can ve felt through his raps make him stand out from the rest of the mainstream rappers today.

The rapper who actually has a scar on his face as his moniker intimates have since taken up the challenge of rapping in English in an effort of gaining an international fan base. We might say it’s working.

I am a Pan-Afrikanist to the core and love to let the world know what they are missing in Africa. I might do that through music and some interesting posts from time to time so please bare with me.

I will always be real though, that's a guarantee.
