Ringtone has hit out at fellow gospel musician Guardian Angel over the remarks that he recently made that made headlines.

The self-proclaimed chairman of the gospel industry took offense with Guardian Angel after he bragged that he was the only gospel musician living in Karen.

Angel bragged about living in Karen while talking about the controversial tax digital for content creators proposed in the Finance Bill 2023.

The gospel singer said that he doesn’t support the proposals even though he has a lot of money.

His opposition to the bill is motivated by artistes and content creators who are suffering in the music industry in Kenya.

“I have money, I am the only gospel artiste living in Karen. Ringtone lives in Runda, not Karen,” said Guardian Angel.

He added that Kenyan music pays him well and he earns a living through music despite many artistes in the country saying that Kenyan music has no money and cannot afford their lives.

“I would be lying in front of God who has blessed me if I say that music doesn’t pay me, music pays me well, that’s why I say that music pays me, I didn’t say it pays us.”

Reacting to Guardian Angel’s remarks, Ringtone blasted the gospel singer saying he too also stays in Karen.

“Guardian Angel, nataka tuheshiamiane, mambo ya kusema wewe ndio unaishi Karen hio mchezo Guardian Angel uache, mimi ndio chairman naishi Karen pekee yangu,” Ringtone further said in a video he shared on Instagram.
