24 year-old Lucy Njambi Ndung’u died a very painful death. Lucy was allegedly kidnapped by her husband Samuel Ndung’u who committed the atrocities on her.
Samuel Ndung’u is a former Riruta Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) in Kiambu County. Lucy reportedly kidnapped by her husband and an unidentified friend at Thindigua estate on Wednesday night.
The two men dragged Lucy into a thicket where the husband’s friend raped her before they poured acid on her face and body.
They then dumped Lucy without clothes at an isolated location at Kamiti Corner in Ruiru. She was still alive when they left him.
Lucy was picked by good Samaritans and taken to Kiambu Hospital. She was later transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for specialized treatment.
Lucy suffered 70% burn. She succumbed to her injuries on Friday morning January 26th while receiving treatment at KNH.
Meanwhile Lucy’s husband Samuel Ndung’u has been arrested in connection with her death. He has been remanded in police custody until Monday to allow police more time to conduct investigations.
Police are probing claims that the couple has been having domestic quarrels before Lucy fled with their 5-year-old son.
Lucy had been living with her son in a rented apartment at Thindigwa along Kiambu Road after he left her husband. Kenyans on social media are calling for justice, Lucy’s ordeal has became a topic on social networking platforms.
