Jackson Ngechu Kimotho Makini, popularly known by his stage name as Prezzo, joined politics in 2019 with the aim of contesting for Kibra parliamentary seat.

Many people thought Prezzo would vie for Kibra constituency seat in last year’s by-election, but his party- Wiper Party clarified that the rapper would contest the seat in the 2022 general election.

Prezzo opened up about his decision to join politics in a recent interview with Mzazi Willy Tuva in Mseto East Africa.

The rapper denounced the common preconceived notion that he was joining the lucrative Kenyan politics to enrich himself.

Prezzo stressed that he was already rich and that he was only seeking a political seat to correct what sitting politicians have failed to do, and leave his own legacy.
