Jackson Ngechu Kimotho Makini, popularly known by his stage name as Prezzo, has officially joined politics to vie for Kibra constituency seat.

Prezzo has joined Wiper Democratic Movement–Kenya (WDM-K) party which is led by former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka.

The controversial rapper was officially unveiled at the party’s headquarter on Tuesday September 10th by Kalonzo and other Wiper leaders.

Earlier there was confusion regarding Prezzo’s candidature after Wiper through it’s official Twitter page announced that the rapper would vie for Kibra constituency seat without giving more details.

Many people thought Prezzo would fly Wiper’s flag in the forthcoming Kibra constituency by-election which is slated for November 7th 2019.

Wiper leader Kalonzo later clarified that Prezzo would vie for Kibra constituency seat in 2022 general election and not November 7th 2019 by-election.

“Today at the Wiper Democratic Movement Headquarters I received Jackson Ngechu Makini aka CMB Prezzo who joined the Wiper Movement officially. Prezzo intends to vie in Kibra Constituency in the 2022 General Elections,” Kalonzo Musyoka tweeted.
