After leaving behind lyricisms for sound, Octopizzo is gradually becoming conscious by the minute releasing songs that resonate not only with the Kenyan audience but with the global audience with a specific message to all Africans all over the world.

His latest record named after Tom Mboya doesn’t only pay homage to Tom Mboya, but it also pays homage to African leaders who made a change in their respective countries which proves that he indeed knows his African history, this can’t be said by most rappers from Africa who also happens to be based in the same continent.

Octopizzo released the song on the day the legendary Kenyan public servant Tom Mboya was assassinated, July 5th, which happens to be 53 years ago.

Being relevant for over ten years in the music industry isn’t a small feat because it comes with evolving, adapting, and blending in with the new subgenres that come with it because, after all, change is inevitable and Octopizzo has managed to live through all these times.

Genge came, Ghipuka came, Kapuka came, drill came even Gengetone genre came just to mention a few genres in the country with some of them forever dumped in the forgotten abyss, but Octopizzo has managed to survive through all these genres, that should tell you something about the rapper.
