Odi wa Murang’a the one-third member of Gengetone group Boondock has confirmed that he is indeed vying for the gubernatorial seat position in the upcoming general elections come 2022.
The talented artiste made a public statement yesterday on Facebook that read, “Odi Wa Muranga Governor 2022 Muranga County. So God help me”
He, later on, followed up the Facebook statement by first thanking all of his sponsors who have come forward to sponsor his official campaign. He couldn’t mention them by name because they want to remain anonymous.

Odi wa Murang’a real name Francis Macharia called upon the Murang’a County youth urging them to make a change they want to see by voting for him to make him the next Murang’a County Governor.

He will be going head to head with already established politicians, businessmen and businesswomen together with respected philanthropists.
He’s expected to contest for the gubernatorial position with people like Stanley Kamau, Sabina Chege, Irungu Nyakera, Moses Mwangi, James Macharia, Irungu Kang’ata, even Jamleck Kamau.
Odi wa Murang’a is the youngest contestant in the aforementioned listed names.
Netizens are split on their decision of supporting the musician with some saying that he could have chosen a smaller political seat like that of a Member of County Assembly (MCA), or even that of a Member of Parliament(MP) than the governor seat while others are saying that they are more than ready and willing to vote for him.
Odi wa Murang’a intentions of vying for a political seat come a few months after the celebrated media personality, Xtian Dela expressed his intentions of vying for the Westlands Member of Parliament position in 2022.
