Nelson Havi ready to go head-to-head with Xtian Dela

The Law Society of Kenya President, Nelson Havi is more than ready and willing to join in the political realm ahead of the 2022 general elections.

The outspoken lawyer –who is bluntly against the BBI Bill terming it “a product of greed, deceit, and mistrust”– took to social media to express his interest in joining politics.

According to the tweet seen by this writer, Nelson Havi says that the decision of his vying for a Member of Parliament seat came after the residents of Westlands asked him to vie for the same position.

This is the same parliamentary position that the celebrated content creator Xtian Dela has expressed interest of.

Havi on the other hand has accepted the requests of Westlands’ constituents.

“I have accepted the request of the People of Westlands Constituency to serve them and the Nation in that capacity effective August, 2022 or earlier if Parliament is dissolved,” said Nelson Havi on social media.

The incumbent Westlands Member of Parliament Timothy Wanyonyi is set to leave the position for a gubernatorial position; either the Kakamega County or the Nairobi County.

Keen on serving the people of Westlands from August 2022, Nelson Havi went ahead to highlight the duties of a Member of National Assembly.

“The Constitution enumerates functions and duties of a Member of National Assembly thus: making laws and protecting the Constitution; determining allocation of national revenue and oversight of its expenditure; reviewing conduct of State officers and oversight of State organs; and infrastructural development, wealth creation and poverty alleviation at the constituency level,” he noted.
