Octopizzo has released his 7th studio album and everybody is talking about it, even the haters and the doubters, the critics and the skeptics are talking about it and they’re not saying anything bad about it.

The rapper who helped changed the commercial hip hop scene as we know it today poured his heart and soul into this project and managed to keep it short and sweet.

The studio album dubbed ‘Lamu Nights’ is the third Octopizzo’s studio album that doesn’t have more than 10 records after his debut studio album ‘The Come Up’ which had 7 tracks released back in 2008, and his sophomore studio album dubbed ‘El Classico’ that had 10 tracks on it, it was released in 2014.

Octopizzo’s latest project has everyone appreciating the hip hop genre in the country and the direction that he’s trying to steer the genre, apparently his idea of dropping lyricism to focus on sound is paying off.

O boy! How he was right, he has a gift of seeing something that no other person can see in this music business.

With the success of this studio project, you won’t be caught unawares after you see your favorite rappers following Octopizzo’s footsteps publicly because this project is fire, and his idea works!

Previously, a lot of rappers in the industry were emulating what Octopizzo was doing but not publicly giving him credit or giving him props. However, with this project, it’s inevitable, every other rapper will soon follow Pizzo Deh’s footsteps and they’ll have no choice but to give him his props.

This is the first studio album that has nothing but bangers, there’s no track from the ‘Lamu Nights’ that doesn’t resonate with everyone plus it has everything for everyone and the sweetest bit of it all is that it glorifies Pan Africanism in every track.

Out of the ten tracks inside the album, I challenge you to find one record, just one which isn’t a banger, let me know. That’s how powerful this studio project really is, what makes it better is that Octopizzo is ready to give us more of where the ‘Lamu Nights’ studio album came from.

Octopizzo continues to take the Kenyan hip hop scene to the next level by doing something out of the box which nobody expected and that’s the beauty of it all.

He singlehandedly took hip hop to the corporate world to make sure that artistes are reaping the fruits of their labor as artistes through rap music and later on moved on to greater things like becoming a humanitarian and a Philanthropist who hasn’t forgotten where he came from.

If it were not for Octopizzo, most of these rappers, if not all of them wouldn’t be representing their neighborhood the way Octopizzo has been representing Kibera for so long, he’s an inspiration to many, not only to rappers but even to Kenyan youth, to say it bluntly, he is a needle mover in the music industry.

If there was something in your entire life that you ever wanted to reward yourself with, listening to Octopizzo’s latest studio album ‘Lamu Nights’ should be your number 1 priority before you do anything else on your bucket list.

Octopizzo featured Lisa Oduor-Noah, Wendy Kay, Narde, Jivu, Tito Wagithomo, Okello Max, Coster Ojwang’, and Buruklyn Boyz on this timeless studio project.
