Octopizzo’s ‘Lamu Nights’ is the #1 studio album of 2022

Octopizzo is setting the hip hop standard way too high that’s going to be hard for these other rappers to catch up with him.

Octopizzo has released his seventh studio album dubbed ‘Lamu Nights’ and it is clear what we didn’t know we wanted but it’s something we needed, something hip hop in Africa needed.

After streaming Octopizzo’s latest body of work, your perception of the Kibera-born and bred rapper will change instantaneously.

Octopizzo’s ‘Lamu Nights’ is that body of work that will change a hater to a number 1 fan easily because there’s nothing to hate on this project, not one thing.

Thanks to the ‘Lamu Nights’ studio project, all doubters of Octopizzo will become believers.

This is the very first-time Octopizzo has featured a lot of artistes in his project, plus it has a few records as opposed to his other albums.

It has 10 records and every single record in the studio album is a certified banger!

Speaking with Biggest Kaka exclusively, the certified hitmaker who is known by the Grammy fraternity said he wants to make something spectacular that will help put not only the Kenya hip hop on the map but also put the country on a pedestal but more importantly highlight the beautiful Lamu.

“I wanted to take away the tourist element and imagine a luxurious lifestyle people associate with Lamu in every record but also not forgetting that there are native people of Lamu who always don’t enjoy all the luxury that comes with it.

But at night we all sleep to some beautiful breeze whether you’re rich or poor,” Octopizzo disclosed why he decided to name the studio album ‘Lamu Nights’.

When he was asked to describe the majestic, timeless studio album ‘Lamu Nights’ he has a few, yet powerful words to sum it up.

“It’s the epitome of artistic mastery. The aim is to be timeless,” the legendary rapper who helped put hip hop in the corporate world told us.

This studio album is so powerful so much so that it got over a million streams on Spotify alone in under 24 hours when he first released it a few days ago.

This studio album has made history that no other musical act has ever done in the country, not a single soul has achieved what Octopizzo has achieved with his seventh studio album which is only a few days old, that means that as soon as hours turn into days, the numbers will keep on going higher and higher.

Even Octopizzo has acknowledged that this ‘Lamu Nights’ studio album has surpassed all the studio projects he’s ever put out in his career and he can’t wait to give us more of where that came from.

“I enjoyed making the project, I took my good time selecting all the pieces. I’m happy to see people enjoying it,” he told Biggest Kaka in part.

“More than I expected because the sound is not the normal hip hop [sound] but it’s already doing a million streams on Spotify and Audiomack. That’s a record off any of my previous albums or off any Kenyan artiste of any genre to ever make.

Platinum streams in less than 24 hours is truly inspiring. I can’t wait to serve them more,” he concluded.

Octopizzo made a move a few months early of doing away with lyricism to jump on sound and it seems it is working very well.

They don’t call him a visionary artiste in Kenya for naught, he sees something in the industry today that other artistes won’t be able to see and clearly it’s working out.

If other artistes start putting out records that lean towards the sound in their records as opposed to lyricism, then you’d know to who all the credits should go, and the gratitude as well.
