The inner circle of late rapper Tupac Shakur insists police arrested and charged the wrong person over the death of the legendary hip-hop superstar.

Police in the US gambling capital of Las Vegas on September 29, 2023, arrested Duane “Keffe D” Davis on suspicion that he shot and killed Tupac Shakur 27 years ago.

The hip-hop legend was only 25 years old when he was gunned down in September 1996.

Death Row Records co-founder Marion ‘Suge’ Knight was the first to insist that he would not be testifying against Duane Davis.

The 58-year-old Death Row Records co-founder told TMZ that he believes police have arrested the wrong man for Tupac’s murder, and stated that he would not be taking the stand in court.

Knight was injured during the 1996 shooting, and despite being the only living witness he said he would not testify.

Another of Tupac’s inner circler Outlawz rapper Napoleon has also backed claim of Duane Davis was not involved in the murder, noting that the suspect was only arrested because he couldn’t stop running his mouth.

Speaking to The Art Of Dialogue, Napoleon said he has little sympathy for Davis’ situation.

He stated that he never mustered enough interest to watch a full interview Davis gave about Tupac’s shooting, but thinks clout-chasing got the best of the man as he was openly bragging about riding in the car involved in Tupac’s murder.

The rapper also said that it was bum move for Davis who is now 60 to be reliving the events around Tupac’s murder nearly 30 years after his death.

Napoleon added that if Tupac had survived the shooting, he wouldn’t want Davis to rot in prison, a sentiment echoed by Death Row Records co-founder Marion ‘Suge’ Knight, who was driving the BMW when he and Pac were shot.
