Mwalimu King’ang’i blames Gengetone artistes for fueling moral decadence in Kenya

Mwalimu King’ang’i has come out to blame Gengetone artistes as he shared his opinion on the rising cases of moral decadence among teenagers.

Speaking on his morning show on Classic 105 with Maina Kageni while debating on what could be negatively influencing the youths in the country, Mwalimu alluded the menace to Gengetone’s ratchetness.

The Classic 105 radio presenter stressed that Gengetone musicians are to be blamed for pushing teenagers to believing ratchetness is the way to go.

“Parents are fighting another pandemic and it’s this Gengetone generation! Hii ni generation ya watoto huwezi ambia kitu,” said Mwalimu King’ang’i.

There has been a substantial rise in cases where school-going teenagers eloped from homes to attend weird parties and engage in immoral activities.

The most recent case of moral decadence among teenagers involved 44 teens making merry in a house in Mountain View estate.

Police say when they arrived at the home, most of the teenagers were intoxicated. Some were so drunk they could barely walk and were unaware of where they were.

The music had been turned low and lights in some rooms switched off; perhaps to avoid attention. Police arrested a 41-year-old woman and her son in connection with the incident.

The teenagers came from different parts of the country, with some travelling from as far as Kericho and Machakos counties.
