Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua is cracking the whip on sexualized and offensive graffiti on matatu.

Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) on Thursday flagged a matatu with sexually offensive graffiti which was plying city routes.

The matatu had a photo drawing of woman with her legs spread wide open with inscription reading “Kitamu Kilambwe” [that which is sweet should be licked].

National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) quickly sprung into action and impounded the matatu after the issue was brought into its attention.

Moral police lauded NTSA for acting quickly, and also vowed to crack the whip on sexualized and offensive matatu graffiti.

“The offensive graffiti on this matatu, which was brought to our attention through social media yesterday, has been removed and an apology tendered to @InfoKfcb by the concerned parties. We warn PSVs to adhere to guidelines on any public exhibition to avoid prosecution.  @IG_NPS,” Mutua tweeted.

Adding that;

“WARNING ON OFFENSIVE GRAFFITI. We have been authoritatively informed by
@ntsa_kenya that the matatu that was reported to us as having sexualized and offensive graffiti has been impounded as the Authority follows up the legal procedures to curb the indecent behavior. @InfoKfcb.”

The moral cop further said that KFCB respects matatu creativity but insisted that public decency code has to be strictly adhered to.

“Comedy is not nudity” Ezekiel Mutua fires more salvos at Eric Omondi as their beef gains momentum

“We appreciate the creativity of our youth, but we urge them to respect public decency and be responsible for the messages they communicate to the public on PSVs. KFCB will collaborate with NTSA to enhance public awareness campaigns and support the law-abiding PSV operators,” Mutua tweeted.
