Mercy Masika: Willy Paul will soon return to the gospel industry

2 mins read

Willy Paul ditched the gospel industry and became a full-fledged secular artiste in 2019 after being frustrated by cartels in the gospel industry.

Gospel singer Mercy Masika however exudes confidence that Willy Paul will soon return home – to the gospel industry.

In his recent interview with journalists, Masika said that of all the artistes who walked away from the gospel industry, she really wants Willy Paul to go back because he was doing very well with songs that worship God.

“Willy Paul is good at singing. I heard him when he was at J Blessing. I listened to him and I realized that the young man has talent. Before he sang with Gloria, he was very good and I can’t wait for him to come back. I really enjoy when he was singing the gospel music, that’s why since he left, I don’t follow him much elsewhere,” she said.

Masika spoke with confidence that will return to the gospel industry whether he likes it or not because God is not done with him yet.

“I want him to come back, and he will come back. God is not a game. If I go to pray and just fast, he will come back. We need our talented gospel artiste to come back,” Mercy Masika said.

In July 2021, Willy Paul explained in detail in a post on social media why he decided to quit the gospel music industry and opted to do secular songs.
