Mercy Masika has revealed that she listens to secular music especially Nameless’ songs despite the fact that she is a leading gospel singer.

Speaking during a radio interview, Masika admitted that is a big fan of Nameless’ music.

The ‘Mwema’ hitmaker explained that she loves Nameless’ music not only due to his creative compositions but also because of the way the veteran musician carries himself.

“I really like Nameless. The way he carries himself, his creativity in composition, I really like him. If I get a chance to convert secular artistes to gospel, I would start with him. I know his songs from a little while ago, I think it’s like he was just doing gospel,” Mercy Masika said.

Masika also expressed her opinion about gospel artistes who in recent days are participating in collaborations with secular musicians.

She also weighed the possibility of collaborating with a secular artiste in a song.

“Everyone will answer to God themselves, there are people who are guided by God and I think they are people with God. There are people we say are bad but we are all people. If God has spoken to you, just do it, but for me to do a collabo with a secular artist, God will have to speak to me,” Masika said.

When asked how she will know God speaking to her, Masika said that she always knows how her soul will find peace in that idea, she will know directly that it is the voice of God speaking within her.

“There is that revelation, you understand that it is something that completely convinces you in your head. If I get that, I will know that God is speaking,” Masika said.

The veteran gospel singer said that among the gospel artistes of the new generation, she really likes Guardian Angel and that she could not rule out the possibility of doing a collabo with him soon.

Masika said that many artistes of the new generation have reached out to her asking for a collabo, but she said that it usually takes a long time to make a decision.
