City lawyer David Ochieng was fatally stabbed by his university girlfriend after he allegedly received a text message from another woman.

24-year-old Linda Okumu, who is a student at Moi University in Eldoret, was arrested after she stabbed the city lawyer at his house in Umoja Innercore.

Police say Linda stabbed her 33-year-old boyfriend three times on the collarbone, abdomen and on his back after a disagreement arose.

The two were quarrelling over a text message in the lawyer’s phone from another lady requesting for financial assistance.

The lawyer was rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital before being transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) where he is battling for his life.

The stabbing was reported at Buru buru Police Station by Victor Rops, an officer attached to Mama Lucy Hospital. The perpetrator was arrested and the knife used to commit the act recovered and kept as an exhibit.

The stabbing of the Nairobi lawyer comes weeks after a Makueni lawyer was killed by his police girlfriend. Constable Nancy Njeri chopped off lawyer Onesmus Masaku’s hand in unclear circumstances.
