Edward Okello who was an Aeronautical Engineer at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport sadly passed away after a violent row with his wife in Umoja 2.
It’s believed the 33-year-old Okello succumbed to stab wounds allegedly inflicted by his girlfriend in Umoja 2 estate. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Mama Lucy Kibaki hospital on Sunday night.
The incident was reported to the Buruburu police station by a bodyguard attached to the chairman of the electoral commission Wafula Chebukati.
The bodyguard, Stephen Orad, said that his neighbor, Edward Okello, was stabbed in the chest by his girlfriend, Vigilance Shighi on Sunday at about 8.30 pm.
“The suspect of the murder who is the girlfriend was identified by the neighbors and arrested immediately. The team proceeded to the residence at Umoja 2, Zone 8, Plot No. 5961 ground floor, and found a pool of blood on the sitting room, and a kitchen knife was recovered,” said the police report.
Officers from the Buruburu police station visited the crime scene in Umoja 2 inside Edward Okello’s house where they discovered a pool of blood believed to be Okello’s in the living room.
The kitchen knife believed to be the murder weapon was recovered in the house as well.

The suspect was caught on camera giving her own side of the story saying that she can only remember hitting Okello with a cup.
“I don’t know what happened…he started beating me. A woman will take anything to defend herself. mimi nikachukua kikombe nikamrushia, All I know he was hitting me,” the suspect told the police, “I swear before I don’t know what happened next,”.
Edward Okello’s body was taken to Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary.
