Sjava celebrates the success of his 2023 album dubbed ‘Isibuko’ by releasing a deluxe version of the album on the 10th of May 2024.

Sjava added four new records to Isibuko, to make up the Isibuko Deluxe album.

Two of the new tracks, ‘Ngibongiseni’ and ‘Could of been you’ feature Sjava alone on vocals collaborating with UK-based composer/producer duo Webmoms and Delayde, who previously produced Sjava’s ‘Umcebo’ and ‘Amavaka’ amongst others, as well new collaborator, South African lo-fi producer Drunk Urameshi.

In ‘Ngibongiseni’, the record which was produced by Drunk Urameshi, Sjava looks back at how his dreams have come to fruition in gratitude, while in ‘Could of been you’ as produced by Webmoms and Delayde, Sjava laments the strange cycle of life, in which good people suffer misfortune and evil seem to prosper.

In the other two newly added tracks, Sjava invites some of the well-established artistes and music connoisseurs to work together on the records.

‘Typhoon’ features four members of the South African music crew The Qwellers, a ten-member collective that has recently taken the South African music industry by storm.

Youngtune, who produced the song “Balele” on Umsebenzi Deluxe with Sjava, produced Typhoon, a feel-good, upbeat love song with a mesmerizing guitar riff.

“This deluxe is really for the fans who’ve supported the album and have wanted more from it. This is a thank you to them,” Said Sjava.

There’s one unforgettable record dubbed ‘Race’, where Sjava collaborates with A-Reece – one of the most revered African hip-hop artists ever and winner of the 2024 Metro FM’s Best Hip-Hop award– as well as US battle-rap legend K-shine is about the importance of determining and sticking to your chosen lane while remaining immune to the erratic and demoralizing commentary of the outside world. Sjava’s long-time producer and partner, Ruff produced the record.

The album’s foundations were laid during an album-deluxe retreat in the stunning Drakensberg mountains in February 2024. Here, Sjava, Ruff, Delayde and Webmoms formulated the project’s core idea and started with the production of the songs.
