Gospel singer L-Jay Maasai has come out to speak about how the death of his grandfather Hassan Ole Kamwaro has taken a toll on his life.

For starters, L-Jay’s grandfather was a well known public servant. The late Ole Kamwaro served as the chairman for Transport and Licensing Board (TLB).

L-Jay’s grandpa died aged 75 in Oklahoma, USA, where he had been undergoing treatment at the Mercy Oncology Centre for the last six months.

His body was flown into the country last week for burial, he was finally laid to rest this past Saturday September 28th at Olngenjemi village, in Narok county.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, CS Keriako Tobiko, and several Maasai lawmakers attended Ole Kamwaro’s burial.

L-Jay Maasai took to social media to mourn his grandfather after his burial, the gospel singer narrated how his grandpa’s death has deeply affected him.

“The last few months have been the hardest for me after my Papa was diagnosed with cancer. I have been off the scene for a while, it took a toll on me emotionally and psychologically. I could not focus on anything, It got worse when Papa passed away in Oklahoma USA, it’s been a nightmare trying to transport his body back home for a decent send off. I wish to express my gratitude to every Member of family, friends, politicians, musicians who have supported us through all this both financially and emotionally . May God bless you abundantly. 🙏 Yesterday we finally laid Hassan Ole Kamwaro to rest in Peace. Soo much appreciation to all that attended the funeral as well. Stay blessed!” wrote L-Jay Maasai.
