Kendrick Lamar is gearing up to leave his record label of many years, Top Dawg Entertainment(TDE) after being a part of the record label for 17 years, during that time Kendrick Lamar took the record label to greater heights in hip hop realm.

Taking to his social media account, Kendrick Lamar shared a post on his Instagram account with a link on the bio that leads you to an official statement.

As it turns out, it appears it’s going to be an end of an era with TDE as he indicated in the post that stresses the fact of the rapper leaving the record label.

Kendrick Lamar will deliver his last studio album for TDE under the record label and then part ways with the record label without any issue/s whatsoever.

“I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts. Writing. Listening,” his statement read. “And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence. I go months without a phone. Love, loss, and grief have disturbed my comfort zone, but the glimmers of God speak through my music and family.

He continues adding, “While the world around me evolves, I reflect on what matters the most. The life in which my words will land next.

As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood.

May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.

There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.”

Kendrick Lamar’s fellow labelmate REASON hinted there’d been some internal growing pains, explaining at the time the label was “going through a weird time.”

Former TDE president Dave Free stepped away in 2019 after 12 years in the role, according to an inside source who told Rolling Stone he’d already been a free agent for several months.

It seems like the fans are about to get a new album since his last studio album, his 2017’s Pulitzer Prize-winning album dubbed ‘DAMN’. Since then, he hasn’t released any new studio project.

There’s no official release date for his last album that will be his last project under Top Dawg Entertainment but fans are looking forward to the same.
