Gospel singer Justina Syokau aka ‘twendi twendi’ has opened up about her son’s illness which has made the last few months a difficult time for her.

Speaking in an interview with Mungai Eve Media, Justina revealed that her son has been sick from time to time since last December.

She said the unknown illness that his son has been suffering from started after he went to visit family in the village.

“Things have been difficult from the year 2023 onwards. In December I had taken my son home because he wanted to say hello at home. I decided to give him a chance to go home for 10 days, I think he stayed three weeks. And when he returned to Nairobi he was never the same. He has been sick from time to time,” Justina said.

She added, “In the first term, he could not be at school because he was very sick. We have visited many hospitals with my son and it has been very difficult. Even this hour, this semester he has studied while still sick. I thank God he is strong.”

The gospel singer noted that her son has been in good health for many years and was not suffering from any diseases before the end of last year.

She revealed that doctors have not yet succeeded in finding out what exactly the 10-year-old boy has been suffering from.

“If you take him to the hospital, you are told that the child is fine. There are times when we go to the hospital and you get an illness and you are not found. There are times when we are told that his digestion is the problem or his colon is the problem,” she said.

She narrated how her son’s illness has affected her music career and how she has lost a lot of money trying to find treatment for him.

She has now apologized to Kenyans while hinting that his son’s illness may have been caused by dark forces sent by someone she may have clashed with in the past or who has a grudge against her.

“If there is anyone I have wronged, please forgive me. If there’s something I’ve ever done to someone that made you stumble and that’s what made me reach the place I’ve reached, I ask you to forgive me. If someone was able to do something to me my child, maybe you cast a spell on my child. If someone made a mistake and did something that affected my child. It would affect me better than the child. I feel I should say sorry to people,” said the singer.

Justina is a mother of one child who turns 10 years old in August. However, she separated from her co-parent several years ago and has been living with the boy alone.
