The EFF founder and Party leader Julius Malema is still pushing his agenda of having a one-language Africa in the future.

Julius Malema has been quoted numerous times about the importance of having Africa speaking one language, that one language that he’s been speaking of is the Swahili language.

Swahili being the most spoken language in the entire African continent has helped him stress his point further.

Malema wants the entire continent of Africa to start speaking Swahili making it the language of communication which as a ripple effect will inevitably help bring all people from and in Africa unite and become one making African unity and bond even tighter and stronger than before.

Addressing the media the other day, on July 16th, 2021, Julius Malema challenged the number one TV station in South Africa, SABC(South African Broadcasting Corporation) to start playing Swahili music in their stations to help spread the narrative of one united Africa that will help citizens to start embracing the Swahili language in an effort of bringing Africa together through one common language.

“I challenge the SABC to play more of Swahili music because we want to promote the language Swahili, so that there could be one common language that can unite the people of Africa.

Through one language, as Africans would be able to understand each other’s message and appreciate each other’s existence,” Julius Malema said in part on July 26th, 2021 on his 8th EFF anniversary speech.

For starters, Kenyan artistes are loving what Malema is saying, with one respected Swahili rapper, Kaa La Moto resharing Julius Malema’s message on social media.

The comment section is filled with nothing but positive remarks on what the EFF Commander in Chief is intending to do for the entire African countries by pushing for one language in Africa.

Among the top Swahili singers in Africa, we have Diamond Platnumz, Otile Brown, Harmonize, Jose Chameleon, and even our very own Sho Madjozi who captured the attention of the entire world with her Swahili hit song ‘John Cena’.

Madjozi also has other numerous Swahili hit songs like ‘Huku’ among others, she’s also worked with Tanzanian rapper Darassa and Kenyan rappers; Boutross, Jovie Jovv, where she sang and rapped in Swahili language.

TRESOR is also keen on singing in Swahili in most of his songs, he’s also worked with Sauti Sol.

Maphorisa and his partner Kabza De Small, collectively known as the Scorpion Kings released an album dubbed ‘Rumble in the Jungle’. The first single from the album is a dance groove with Kiswahili lyrics called ‘Funu’ featuring the artist Tresor, who is originally from Goma, DRC, but is based in South Africa.

Miriam Makeba also did a Swahili hit song dubbed ‘Malaika’ a few years ago that is a classic to this day.
