Fast-rising Bongo singer Jay Melody, who boasts of several hit songs, has announced that he has ditched his music career.

Jay Melody took to social media to make the announcement without giving any explanations behind his decision to quit music when his career is on an upward trajectory.

“I quit music,” Jay Melody wrote on InstaStories.

The surprise move left many fans with questions with some wondering if the announcement was just a clout-chasing antic.

To many people, it doesn’t make sense for Jay Melody to quit music abruptly since his song are enjoying massive airplay in both Kenya and Tanzania.

The Tanzanian singer in the past two years has ruled the airwaves in Kenya with hit songs like Sugar, Nakupenda, Nitasema and the Puuh collaboration with Billnass.

In September 2023, Jay Melody revealed he was aspiring to compose a Reggae song after his Amapiano song failed to impress fans.

Melody stressed that despite his Amapiano song not doing well he had not given up on releasing songs in different genres as long as it is requested by his fans, revealing that he could do Reggae music.
