“Siwezi saidia Conjestina” – Jaguar rules out helping former boxing champion

Former Starehe MP Jaguar has explained in detail why he can’t dare help retired boxing champion Conjestina Achieng.

Jaguar said helping Conjestina is a waste of time as he helped her before to get assistance in rehab yet she still relapsed.

The former Starehe MP insisted that people who need rehabilitation must have the will themselves to change before they can be helped.

Jaguar stated that he helped Conjestina even before former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko went to her rescue.

“Nineona kwa hii dunia kuna mtu unaweza ukasaidia na kuna mtu huwezi saidia. Mi mwenyewe nimesaidia Conjestina before ata Sonko akuje amsaidie,” Jaguar said while speaking to vloggers.

Asked to elaborate on Conjestina’s issue, Jaguar stressed that he could not try to help her again.

“Hapo sirudi, mimi nilimusaidia before ata jana nilikua na Mike Sonko,” he said.

Sonko took Conjestina back to rehab for the third time but vowed that it was the last time he would help the former boxing champion.

In a statement after Achieng was admitted to the Mombasa Women’s Rehabilitation Centre, Sonko lamented that his previous attempts to help the boxer had been watered down.

“Even though our chances in Conjestina’s healing journey were watered down, I’m a person who doesn’t give up in life. It is for this reason that we have given Conjestina the third and last chance again on her case. I just want to let the public know that she was readmitted at the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre where she will start her treatment afresh under the care of a group of specialists, including councillors, consultants and physiatrists,” Sonko stated.

Back to Jaguar, the former Starehe MP additionally stated that he had learnt an important lesson dealing with people who need rehabilitation having served as a director at the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA).

Jaguar disclosed that he gave up rehabilitating his own father who is an alcoholic because he didn’t have the will to change.

The musician-turned-politician said he took his father to rehab four times yet every time he was discharged from rehabilitation facilities he went back to drinking alcohol.

“Mimi mwenyewe nimekua director Nacada.
