Jaguar, real name Charles Njagua Kanyi, opened up about the painful death of his mother while revealing why he blames his father for the loss.

Speaking during an interview on Kameme FM with Muthoni Wa Kirumba in her show, Jaguar narrated the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death.

The former Starehe MP said his parents started having domestic quarrels after his father neglected them and married another young woman.

Jaguar said his dad was working for an insurance company and was initially supporting them but stopped when he married the other woman.

The musician-turned-politician lamented that his mother slipped into depression after his father neglected them.

Jaguar said his mother developed high blood pressure because of stress and that her situation deteriorated to the extent that she could not do anything.

The musician noted that he was forced to do menial jobs to support his mother and also cater for her medical bills.

Jaguar’s mother ultimately passed on and this devastated him.

“My dad caused the death of my mother,he married another wife and neglected us. After this my mother developed high blood pressure disease and she got depression, after few years she died,” Jaguar said.

Jaguar nonetheless has not neglected his father despite blaming him for his mother’s death.

While serving as a director at the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada), Jaguar revealed that his father was an alcoholic and that he had admitted him to a rehab centre in Nyeri.

On August 1, 2016, Jaguar posted on his social media pages a photo, as he visited his father and other recovering addicts at the centre.

“Visited the Serenity Spring Center, a drug rehabilitation centre in Nyeri where my dad is currently undergoing rehabilitation due to alcohol addiction. It has been a long journey battling the addiction but I believe he is finally overcoming it,” Jaguar wrote.
