Inspekta Mwala has come a long way, the TV show was one of the many TV shows that were there when Citizen TV was coming up in airwaves dominance a couple of years ago.

The popular TV show that has Davis Mwabili playing the lead role will sooner or rather come to an end, it’s inevitable. Mwala at least believes that.

Inspekta Mwala opened many doors to the cast of the popular TV show which helped the popular actor, Davis Mwambili secure a radio job at Royal Media Services(RMS).

He’s been on the radio for years, an opportunity that he’s forever grateful but he recently quit his radio job at Radio Citizen where he’s been working for 13 long years.

On his last day on the job, Davis Mwambili said; “Today is my last day at Radio Citizen. I am doing this morning’s show and will also host Drive On in the evening. I am grateful to the station and to the fans who have been tuning in for so many years. When you meet me in the streets buy me meat,”

Davis Mwambili alias Inspekta Mwala gave out an interview with the award-winning radio and TV host Willy M Tuva, he explained why he was leaving radio.

The thespian disclosed that he was seeking something new apart from radio because he wasn’t invested anymore in work on radio.

“ People do not have to live like a group of sheep or locusts, together. Life is yours alone and you cannot share your own life with anyone.

Radio for me was great because it was something I was passionate about and had gave my all to do it. But I never said that I will do it till I die,” Mwambili who still confessed to loving radio went ahead to state.

In Inspekta Mwala’s mind, his focus is aligned with something else which isn’t radio, at least not anymore.

“I still love radio, but I am at this point in life where there is much more than it. It is not everyday me on the radio that I cannot breathe,” he shared.

On retiring Inspekta Mwala

Davis Mwambili said that retiring the character Inspekta Mwala is inevitable and it’s something that it’s in the pipeline already.

What’s making him not pull the plug just yet is his love, care, and understanding for the cast of the show because it’s not rocket science that if he pulls out from the show, the show can’t continue to go on without him.

He has however talked to them and let them know that he can pull the plug anytime, it may be a few years from now, five or maybe 10 years but the bottom line is that he will soon or later retire the character Inspekta Mwala that has been entertaining Kenyans on Citizen TV for over a decade without relent.

“The people I work with on that show still need me. Without me there is no Inspekta Mwala and those people have no jobs. If I decide to leave today, the show will come to an end.

I have already alerted them to start preparing themselves because anytime I may leave, it can be after ten years or 5 years,” he added.

It’s only the love that he has for the cast of the show that’s making him not leave the Inspekta Mwala character because he knows a lot of the crew depends heavily on the production of the show to feed their family.

I am a Pan-Afrikanist to the core and love to let the world know what they are missing in Africa. I might do that through music and some interesting posts from time to time so please bare with me.

I will always be real though, that's a guarantee.
