It’s Namba Nane Baiby! The artiste that signs the biggest bank cheques from Kenya is Octopizzo!

Henry Ohanga, better known by his stage name Octopizzo, is an accomplished recording and performing musician, entrepreneur, and humanitarian who has made a name for himself thanks to all of the things he does plus being a positive influencer when it comes to his neighborhood, Kibera, where he was born and bred.

In all the confidence you can muster, Octopizzo says, “Hakuna msanii Kenya anasign cheque kubwa kuliko yangu!(There’s no artiste in Kenya who signs big cheque than me)”

Recently, he dropped his Lamu Nights album which is currently topping the charts everywhere.

Everybody is talking about his stellar, best-performing seventh studio album ‘Lamu Nights’. You should stream it if you haven’t already.

Is language beneficial to take an artist’s music international?

“Lugha Gani?” Octo inquires.

He continues to say that, artists who are doing Hip-hop secure the bag more than the singers. On the language issue, he says there’s no barrier because even English is a white man’s mother tongue.

Are you happy using someone else’s mother tongue to sing and then say it’s international?” he questions the Wasafi TV host, Mchaga OG.

Octopizzo says Despacito, Ozuna and also songs by Bad Bunny are some of the most viral and streamed songs; are they done in English? The answer is NO!

Bad Bunny is a stage name for Benito Antonio Martnez Ocasio, a rapper, and vocalist from Puerto Rico. Reggaeton and Latin trap are two genres of music that he plays.

His song “Diles” helped him gain notoriety in 2016, and Hear This Music eventually signed him.

Rapper and businessman, Octopizzo was speaking in Tanzania, where he was the only Kenyan artist booked for the event.

For someone who went international with Sheng, he knows that a language card is just an excuse and fallacy!

What do you think?
