Sol Generation artiste Bensoul says his music career would be dead if he had considered the advice his father gave him.

Apparently, Bensoul’s father, who was also a musician during his youth, did not want the Sol Generation singer to follow in his footsteps.

In an interview on Sol Generation’s YouTube channel, the artiste disclosed how his dad attempted to dissuade him from pursuing a career in music.

However, Bensoul disregarded his father’s advice and ultimately sought to pursue a career in music.

“My father was also a musician. He sang in the choir and played with a certain band. He tried to stop me from doing music, but music has been a part of me since I was three years old,” Bensoul said.

“I was born and raised in Embu. I grew up in a slum called Dallas, where I was raised by a single mom. My dad left us. I have a big sister called Lucy, who basically raised me,” he added.

Bensoul recently lost his mother. The musician announced to his fans that he lost his mother Suzana while performing over the past weekend.

The singer told his fans that he was celebrating her life.

“Rest in peace to my mama. She left us last week, but right here we are having a good time celebrating her,” he told his fans in the middle of his performance
