Nadia Mukami emerged as the best female musician in East Africa ahead of Bongo queen Zuchu at the recently concluded 2023 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMAs).

Afrimma award gala that was held in Dallas, Texas, US on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Nadia Mukami floored music giants to emerge victorious. She had been pitted against music heavyweights such as Zuchu and Nandy in the Best Female East Africa category.

The Kenyan singer without fear of contradiction gladly accepted her new title ‘Queen of East Africa’ after winning the Afrimma trophy.

“The Biggest celebration: THE WEIGHT LOSS🙏 I feel like God’s Favorite because I really struggled for months and I hated music videos and pictures in General! I thank God for his unconditional love and always giving me 3 things! Grace, Mercy & Favor. Queen of the East is my New Name Now🇰🇪 Thank you @afrimma,” Nadia Mukami wrote.

Nadia, who has returned to the country after her win in US, says that she cannot disrespect the musician she floored to win the Afrimma award.

Speaking to journalists at JKIA, Nadia said that Zuchu and Nandy are her musical sisters and thus she has utter respect for them.

“They are my sisters, especially Nandy, there is a song we are preparing with her, so I can’t look down upon my sisters. It is not my character to humiliate women in the music industry, sometimes it’s just jokes on the internet, but I respect them,” she said.
