Huddah Monroe blasts Kenyans for tolerating upcoming Nigerian musicians

1 min read

Huddah Monroe wonders why each upcoming Nigerian musician has to pass through Kenya first before they blow up.

The petite socialite expressed her frustrations with Kenyans for giving Nigerian artistes the platform to blow up at the expense of local musicians.

Huddah was particularly disturbed by the fact that Kenya often serves as their first stepping stone to global recognition for Nigerian musicians.

“In Kenya, we know more upcoming Nigerian artistes than Nigeria. They always stop by Kenya before they blow up & that’s a fact. We’re our brothers’ keepers,” Huddah wrote.

Nigeria is pioneer of Afrobeat which is now one of the most favourite music genres in Kenya, dominating airwaves in the country – this explains why Nigerian musicians are loved by Kenyans.

In recent years, Afrobeat has experienced popularity on the global stage, with artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido gaining international recognition for their modern interpretations of the genre.

This renewed interest has helped bring Afrobeat to a broader and more diverse audience, contributing to its continued evolution and influence in contemporary music.
