Burna Boy remains optimistic South Africans will buy tickets for his concert even after his gig was canceled because of low ticket sales.

The Nigerian music heavyweight was slated to perform at the largest stadium in Africa which hosted the 2010 World Cup finals.

Burna Boy was expected to draw hundreds of thousands of revelers to fill the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg which has the capacity of 94,736 seats.

However, due to embarrassing low ticket sales organizers have been forced to postpone Burna Boy’s concert from September 23 to December 16, 2023, hoping more fans would have bought tickets by then.

“We regret to announce the postponement of the highly anticipated Burna Boy concert scheduled to take place at FNB stadium, Johannesburg on 23 September 2023. The concert will now take place on 16th of December 2023.
This decision was not made lightly by the promoter and comes as a result of careful consideration and assessment of various factors, including the lack of ticket sales,” Ticketpro announced in a statement.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for those who have already purchased tickets. All previously purchased tickets remain valid for 16th of December. For fans who are unable to attend on this date, we have set up a dedicated customer support channel,” the statement added.

Burna Boy responded after his concert was postponed, saying that he attracted some 100,000 fans last year when he performed in South Africa and that his upcoming concert will also be a success.

“I was in SA last year and I had 100 thousand of the most beautiful South Africans outside for me. So no dead agenda can agend. I will see you again real soon South Africa. I love you,” Burna Boy wrote.
