When you get props from a legend like Professor Jay, that’s when you know you have made it

I cannot blame you if you didn’t know Darassa last year, even me I didn’t know the guy till July this year [2016] after releasing the music video for his ‘Too Much’ single which was produced by Hanscana.

Lines like ‘wanasema nimechenji nimepitia mengi’, ‘please nipeni breki’(they say that I have changed I have gone through a lot, please give me a break) and ‘mwengine atakutafuta kama ana deal’ (another one will look for you if he has a deal) only cements his lyricism base further because the rapper talks about real life issues in the society and that’s what people relates to.

If that single wasn’t enough club banger from him in 2016, four months later he went on to release yet another anthem called ‘Muziki’ where he featured Tanzanian acclaimed RnB singer Ben Pol which solidified him in the rap genre in East Africa and the whole region to say the least.

The highest honor and respect that any rapper in East Africa can get is when the veteran rapper Professor Jay real name Joseph Haule who is also the Member of Parliament for MIKUMI constituency in TANZANIA gives you a shout out and appreciates you enough to say that you are doing good, that’s when you know you have made it and you’re in the right path.

My little one @darassacmg your faith, never loosing hope and your struggle of night and day is the reason that has made you be where you are right now, I remember the time you were shooting your music video for ‘USIKATE TAMAA(don’t loose hope)’(which was shot way back in 2012 by the way with Ben Pol) you told me that you wish to reach the level like ours, I then told you that there’s nothing achievable below the sun if you set goals, working hard tirelessly and praying everything is possible, I believe in your style, this style of stone above stone Your DREAM is coming to pass. I love everybody who loves everybody, somebody got to love somebody at some point.
Music is something that comes natural to everybody and it's a language that everybody can understand, I understand it and that's why I speak it
fluently, do you.
