On Wednesday, the music industry was thrilled to learn that Dr. Dre’s classic debut studio album, The Chronic, will be re-released on all major streaming platforms.

This much-anticipated re-release of the iconic album is being overseen by its original distributor, Interscope Records. The re-release will be accompanied by a new collection of merchandise that is inspired by the timeless project.

In a statement, Dr. Dre expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to bring The Chronic back to its original distribution partner, Interscope Records.

He also took the time to acknowledge the contributions of two key figures at Interscope Geffen A&M, Vice Chairman Steve Berman, and Chairman John Janick, for their role in helping him revive the album for a new era.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be working with my long-time colleagues, Steve Berman and John Janick, to re-release The Chronic and make it available to fans all over the world. This moment feels like a full-circle journey for me, and I am so grateful to be able to bring the album back to its original home, Interscope Records,” Dre stated.

Both Berman and Janick expressed their excitement about having The Chronic back under the Interscope umbrella. Janick, in particular, emphasized the significance of the album, calling it “one of the most important albums of all time.”

This re-release of The Chronic, which was originally released in December 1992, is being celebrated as part of its 30th anniversary.

Fans will be able to purchase the new merchandise inspired by the album through Interscope, providing a unique opportunity to commemorate this iconic project.
