Felix Orinda alias DJ Evolve is starting a fund to help people living with disabilities.

DJ Evolve was inspired to start the fund after getting a second chance at life following the tragedy that left him disabled.

The mix master founded The Evolve Fund to help individuals with disabilities both in Kenya and internationally.

He has partnered with Tufund, a crowdfunding platform that seeks to enable people to source funding for different causes, and Mtickets Events to organize a series of concerts dubbed Evolution.

The concerts are set to be held every other month in Nairobi and across the country, and the proceeds from the event will be channelled into The Evolve Fund.

The first concert is set to take place on February 12, 2023, and among the deejays already confirmed for the event include DJ Purpl, DJ Saint Kevinsky, DJ Mjay Kenya, and DJ Namosky. DJ Twinn 48 and a host of several other deejays and emcees.

DJ Evolve suffered paralysis after he was shot by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on January 17, 2020, at a nightclub.

DJ Evolve has been bedridden since the tragic event. He has been receiving physiotherapy after undergoing three surgeries in the past two years.

The physiotherapy, which is paid for by Babu Owino, is helping the mix master regain some motor skills – functions that involve specific movements of the body’s muscles to perform a certain task.
