When the boy from the Samia Land Daddy Andre’s real name Andrew Ojambo sneezes, the whole Ugandan music industry catches a cold, my not old adage goes.

Truth said is that Uganda’s music industry has had a phased revolution cycle to get where it stands now and there are those names that will always pop up when Uganda and music appear in the same sentence for their remarkable contribution towards the development and revolutionizing the industry.

But as for me right now, I am more inclined to the current trend of how events are running and you will have to align with me in thinking that Daddy Andre is currently the biggest influencer or a silent lion of the industry that whenever this lion roars, even young birds in the industry will fly out of their nests to get a grasp of what the king man has to say.

We have had music legends come and go, even others have passed on and living legends are forgotten, but at the look of things and considering all factors at play, City Prolific producer and musician has all the qualifications to refer to him as an icon and a living legend in the making.

This Ugandan star hasn’t been here for more than a decade but his presence over years has been felt and visibly seen through different vivid ways.

He first got known as a young ambitious and talented producer whose songs he made were instant sale outs before he started singing and he immediately became an instant star upon dropping a few songs recorded and performed by himself when he came out as a singer.

One thing about Ugandan artists is the way they have always wanted to blow their own trumpet to make their fans think that they are still relevant and to pull media attention but Daddy Andre is one who believes that let the work do the talking and not words.

He is one music fellow who believes in hard work, teamwork and with utmost calmness not like any other Ugandan musicians who start feeling like stepping on toes of people once they get up there.

He wishes only good things to happen to any ambitious musician in the industry to work hard and release their dreams, unlike our old phased legends whose ego and greed always pushed them into making the industry a chaotic scene of fights, indulging in unhealthy competition, manhunt and counter-accusations of witchcraft, intrigue and selfishness of wanting to keep on top and leave others under their feet.

This can be evidenced by the number of collaborations Daddy Andre has had to do with fellow colleagues and upcoming artists of whom most times have even gone ahead to record free for them and the songs have ended up becoming instant hits making the feature artists instant celebs as well.

He has in his music career done almost more collabos than solo projects and being the good prolific producer that he is, his duet projects have never disappointed.

His touch of success and good work can be looked at when you profile his most successful duet projects and solo projects. His solo projects being Sikikukweka, Tugende Mu Church, Omwana Wa Bandi and so many others.

He has done studio projects which include Tonelabila with songbird Angella Katatumba and its success levels are unforgotten, Andele and Nangana with Nina Roz, Kyoyoya with John Blaq and Prince Omar, Omukwano with Winnie Nwagi, You and me featuring Lydia Jazmine and a host of others which have against all odds become instant hits in the country and region at large.

Daddy Andre is also known for his outstanding production masterpieces like Exercise (Sheebah), Billboard (Kipande), Enyonta (Nina Roz), Jangu (Winnie Nwagi) to mention but a few.

Going by the first description of him in simple terms, He’s a pure definition of perfect talent among the few the pearl of Africa-Uganda has produced nearing the end of the 21st century.

He sings in more than three languages and his music genre specialty is Afrobeat, Hip hop, Dancehall, Afro-pop, and RnB.

He is a man who has been behind some of the greatest hits Uganda and the East African region has always woken up to dance to, not only by way of his singing but also through producing and directing for fellow artists in the region as well as him being a great stage performer of his works.

Going by the respect he commands and the admiration he enjoys from everyone in the music industry due to numerous awards he has won under his name like Zzina Awards, Buzz Teeniez Awards, HiPipo Awards, Daddy Andre is undeniably the biggest influencer of the music industry who is still on course a living legend and an icon that needs a little push onto the international global scene.
