Veteran rapper Collins Majale popularly known as Collo marked two decades in the music industry with a special unplugged session.

The unplugged session dubbed ‘ColloUnplugged’ took fans on a nostalgic journey as the rapper streamed his songs on his official platforms.

The event was a tribute to Collo’s journey in the music industry.

Collo shot to fame as a member of the now defunct hip hop group Kleptomaniax which comprised of Nyashinski (Nyamari Ongegu) and Roba (Robert Manyasa).

Kleptomaniax was formed in 1999 when the trio was still high school students at the Nairobi School.

The group joined the Ogopa DJs label and released their first single ‘Freak It’ in 2002, which was followed by ‘Maniax Anthem’ and ‘Haree’.

Kleptomaniax’s big break came in 2004 when they released ‘Tuendelee’ which became their biggest hit so far.

After 2007, the group had a break while their members engaged in solo projects and before they reunited in 2009 to release their second album.

However, Kleptomaniax was disbanded as their second album didn’t do well. Collo continued as a solo musician as Nyashinki went to the US.

Collo remained on the scene as a solo act and has since transitioned to a gospel artiste. Nyashinski made a successful comeback in 2016 and his song ‘Malaika’ and has been dominating charts to date.
